Caroline C. Lewis, Executive Director, implements Poplar Grove Foundation Inc.’s mission of conversation, education, and preservation in all areas of the historic site’s operations. She also oversees research efforts, tour content, and website content. She has a MFA for Poets and Writers from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Suzette Cooper, Operations Director, coordinates the annual fund-raising events, such as the Herb & Garden Fair, manages the Mercantile at Poplar Grove as well as its Farmers’ Market. She also juries the fine and heritage art components of these events and schedules the School Field Trips. She has a BFA from Ontario College of Art and Design.
Betha Knight, Stables Manager, supervises stable operations, its volunteer program, and its social media platform. She also orchestrates fund-raising efforts to support the Equine Foster Program. She has a Bachelors in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Sherry Kittrell, Lawn & Grounds Manager, oversees the care and maintenance of the lawn, grounds, and garden beds, coordinating with the Pender County Master Gardeners and the PG Gardening Club. She is a member of the Pender County Master Gardeners, and coordinates and schedules volunteers through the Community Service Program. And serves as “the representative” on the other end of the phone line!
